Meeting of the Coalition for Financial Literacy with the World Bank expert Shaun Mundy

Crystal Fund organized the meeting of the Coalition for Financial Literacy with Mr. Shaun Mundy, the British Expert of the World Bank and the Senior Vice-President of the international organization Financial Literacy Group.

The aim of the meeting was to discuss the situation and perspectives of implementing the National Strategy for Financial Education in Georgia and to determine the role of the coalition in this regard.

Mr. Mundy is an international leader in the financial literacy movement, with the experience and worldwide expertise on financial literacy programs and policies. He was actively involved in the development of the National Strategy for Financial Education in Georgia and has provided expert support to the National Bank of Georgia.

It is noteworthy that Mr. Mundi led the establishment and implementation of the national strategy for financial capability in 2003 until 2007. Since 2008 he has been consulting the organizations such as the World Bank, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the German Association for International Cooperation (GIZ) Savings Banks Foundation for International Cooperation (SBFIC) etc. Mr. Mundy has undertaken financial literacy projects in a range of countries, including Mongolia, Laos, South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Malawi, Zambia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Keith Young MBE, the British Member of the Board of Crystal Fund. As an experienced investor, Mr. Young has been supporting Georgian companies working in finance and technology for many years.
